HELLO...
This blog hosts the 5 artworks & 5 supplementary gestures I've devised for my contribution to the fictional exhibition 'Exchange + Connection' installed by the 84 BSc Architecture Year 3 students in each of their designs for The Centre for British Culture, Art and Studies, Budapest
Two artists (myself from the UK, Lovas Ilona from Hungary) will exhibit alongside each other in these imaginary opening exhibitions.
I have come up with a series of works and supplementary gestures, all based around the idea of attempting to experience a place or moment by a process of exchange or interaction. This is accompanied by a separate lecture about the problems of gallery design and installing art.
This fictional gallery setting allows unwieldy, unlikely or untested ideas to occur. Ideally, operating to test the ambitions of the building, the brief, the artist and architects.
Good luck everyone!
